As patients are transforming into value-oriented consumers due to their increasing responsibility as payers, they are coming to expect a different kind of healthcare experience. A crucial part of this evolving experience is the adoption of strong financial relationships between patients and providers.
To gain insight into strategies that are currently working for providers and patients and identify what can be expected over the coming years, we surveyed over 150 healthcare experts who are directly responsible for the patient financial experience.
Provider responses revealed compelling information about the current state of their patient financial engagement solutions and what areas they would like to see improved in the coming year. An overwhelming number of respondents said that the solution they have in place now is less than an A-grade experience for their patients.
Patient loyalty and retention have a strong correlation with a positive patient experience. In order to meet patients where they are, it is crucial for healthcare organizations to streamline the billing process.
As we move into 2020, many of the healthcare respondents say they plan to develop new strategies and deliver a healthcare and payment experience that is more personalized.
